Experience in commercial environments, with a natural aptitude for the interactivity between the creative, commercial, production and corporate worlds would be advantageous.

Responsibilities will include assisting with the Business and Legal Affairs work across a wide variety of matters and projects on a day-to-day basis, including:

  • assisting in structuring, negotiating and drafting film and television commissioning, financing and co-production agreements;
  • negotiating and drafting film and television development and production agreements with on- and off- screen talent and crew;
  • assisting in structuring, negotiating and drafting content acquisition agreements in relation to finished films/documentaries, and titles going into production;
  • advising on rights issues and rights distribution agreements;
  • advising on all aspects of film and television developments and productions including providing copyright, IP and compliance advice;
  • liaising internally at NBCUniversal with cross disciplinary teams and externally with other studios, distributors, platforms, talent, creative and production personnel; and
  • working collaboratively across the team to share and improve knowledge, through know-how research/presentations, the development of templates etc.

  • Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial / IP contracts
  • Strong understanding of contract, commercial and copyright law
  • Able to demonstrate an interest in the media industry and legal issues related to it
