The role at a glance: NBBJ London is expanding with exciting work opportunities in life science, workplace, healthcare and higher education design. We are seeking a Senior Designer with approximately 10 years of experience and excellent conceptual, visual, and communication skills to work in a highly collaborative design-oriented studio.
In your new role, you will:
- Explore, lead, and communicate design concepts
- Actively develop and guide building designs from concept to detail
- Prepare and participate in client pitches, presentations, and design competitions
- Prepare and participate in stakeholder engagement including the town planning pre-application process and end user consultation
- Lead the work of other team members, providing mentoring and guidance
- Engage collaboratively with wider projects teams, including clients, consultants, and contractors
- Provide thought leadership in high-performance, low carbon building concepts
- Assist with new business development
What you will need to succeed:
- Qualified Architect with minimum 10 years of post-qualification work experience
- Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills for high performance buildings with a focus on location specific contextual solutions
- Knowledge and experience of Low and Zero Carbon design strategies
- Portfolio of delivered projects, including UK work
- Strong verbal and graphic communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams of designers
- Ability to participate in multiple projects and manage deadlines
- Proficiency in Revit with 3D modelling skills; Rhino and/or Sketchup
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open environment
- Ability to travel subject to project requirements
