NBBJ London is seeking an experienced Healthcare Architect (qualified) to work on a range of healthcare projects in design and construction. Responsibilities will include working with the clients team, architectural design team, engineering consultants and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes. The role requires an interest and experience of working on a range of healthcare projects including large or complex buildings.
Projects we are looking to fill positions include early design stages for a hospital in Wycombe that includes Theatres, Cardiac Emergency and Inpatients, delivering a flagship Cancer Research Hospital in Cambridge, developing and delivering NHP projects or supporting feasibility studies for new work.
In your new role, you will:
- Coordinate with the clients healthcare teams and consultants
- Coordinate with the architectural design team and engineering consultants
- Have excellent communication skills, written, drawn and verbal
- Schedule and coordinate other team members to ensure project programme and progress can be maintained, regularly liaising with the Project Team Leader
- Collaboratively coordinate with contractors and subcontractors, in line with the project programme
- Negotiate to address competing interests, priorities and conflicts
- Solve project related technical issues through sound decision-making, judgement, and research
- Work independently but consulting with the Project Team on key issues
- Translate design intent into technical drawings and NBS specification
- Review and process contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Reply to RFI’s, issue clarifications, and design change notifications as needed
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience delivering major healthcare projects
- ARB registered architect (UK qualified)
- Past success working with large or complex teams (clients, their agent, sub-consultants, contractor and suppliers)
- Proficiency with applicable UK Building Regulations, standards (including NHS design guidance), CDM and best practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, Adobe suite and NBS Create
- Experience on-site, observing and commenting on level of construction quality, detailing and finish as set out in the contract documents
- Experience using Autodesk Revit Architecture day-to-day is required
- Willing to travel to project sites both inside and outside of the M25, depending on project location
- Experience with the design and construction of large or complex projects
- Relationship building skills and organisational ability are key
- Experience communicating with clients, consultants and contractors
