An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at our Residential Care Home as Deputy Manager. The main responsibility of this role is to support the General Manager in the day to day operation of the service and deputise as directed in their absence. You will be responsible for leading the care team ensuring that a safe, effective, and efficient care service is maintained which meets the needs of our residents. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and can effectively supervise individuals and a team. The role will suit someone who is caring, friendly, empathetic and has a good understanding of the needs of our residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will oversee and assist every aspect of care and activities within the home, including developing and updating person centred care plans and maintaining clear, accurate medication records.
- Share your clinical experience, provide valuable support, guidance and assistance to the rest of the care staff.
- You’ll ensure adequate staffing is always maintained within the home through efficient management of staff rotas, and from time to time, will provide cover out of hours, as required.
- Create and develop strong relationships with key partners in the community, you will play an important role in strengthening our brand and raising the care home’s profile.
- Provide support and professional supervision to care staff as appropriate.
- Ensure effective communication with relatives and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home is maintained.
- Assessing and responding to clinical risk, and having a good understanding of the regulatory framework.
All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and a PVG disclosure check. It is a requirement of the role to hold SSSC registration.
About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Manager to be part of the team with a background in person-centred care planning within a care home. You’ll be a great mentor who can manage time effectively and keep meaningful records. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind. You will ideally hold a SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 7 or equivalent.
