We have an opportunity for a Catering Manager position at our care home. The purpose of the role is to manage a team that is responsible to cater for a large number of residents with diverse dietary requirements ensuring the highest standards are maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a cost effective and efficient ordering system and ensure adequate stocks are maintained.
  • To maintain rotational menus to provide choice and nutritional requests for the residents to the agreed budget.
  • Ensure that proper standards of cleanliness in the catering department are maintained and hygiene regulations are observed at all times.
  • Lead and supervise the catering team.
  • Prepare and ensure meals are presented and delivered to a high standard to residents.

About You

As the Catering Manager, you will plan and deliver the full catering and dining experience with high quality standards for our residents. You will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene and safety in the catering area whilst maintaining the correct HACCP principles in all catering areas and ensuring all legislative standards are met. The role would suit someone who has a passion for food and can deliver good quality catering services. The ideal person for this role would have good communication skills, flexible approach, have the ability to prioritise tasks and have excellent time management skills. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and can effectively supervise, lead, and develop the Catering team. This role will suit someone who is driven, motivated, believes in high quality of Catering and Care and has a good understanding of the needs of our residents. You will hold a City and Guilds 7061/2 or equivalent and will need a working knowledge of the dietary requirements for older people.
