We have an opportunity for a Cook position at our care home. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and provision of meals, have the responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations
- To be involved with the preparation and serving of all meals
- Participate in general kitchen duties as required
- To ensure high standard of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to and maintained at all times within the kitchen
- You will support the Catering Manager to operate the kitchen effectively and efficiently working within a budget
All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
About You
As a Cook, you will prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations, providing high quality catering for our residents. The role would suit someone who has a passionate about food and can delivery good quality catering services. The ideal person for this role would have good communication skills, flexible approach, have the ability to prioritise tasks and have excellent time management skills.
A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and an understand of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points is essential. S/NVQ level 2 in Catering and Hospitality would be desirable.
