An opportunity has arisen to join our Catering team at our care home as a Kitchen Assistant. The main responsibility of the role is to provide general food preparation and cleaning service for the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving food
- To prepare residents meal trolleys and trays to the correct and specified standard prior to serving meals
- Participate in general kitchen duties as required
- To ensure high standard of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to and maintained at all times within the kitchen
All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
About You:
The ideal person for this role would have previous kitchen experience but this is not essential and full training will be provided. As a Kitchen Assistant, it is essential you have good communication skills and can work well within a team and individually. The role would suit someone who has the ability to prioritise tasks, has a flexible approach and is energetic and hard working. It is also important that you have good time management, great record keeping and organisational skills. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, or you will be willing to undertake the relevant training to gain this qualification.
