An exciting opportunity has come up in our Nursery in Lancaster for a Nursery Assistant. The purpose of this role is to provide a caring service in the welfare of individual children.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a warm, safe and stimulating environment throughout the day
  • Observe and monitor children's progress under the supervision of a trained staff member
  • Record and update children's progress and development records and liaise with parent/carer on a regular basis
  • Ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained in the Nursery at all times
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new ideas and approach in the Nursery
  • Co-operate with other Nursery staff to promote good relationships and teamwork
  • Maintain an attractive, stimulating, and reassuring educational/play environment for children in your area of work
  • Operate as a “Keyworker” and establish positive relationships with key children and their parents/carers
  • Plan, organise and participate in the provision and supervision of a wide range of play activities both in and out of doors under the supervision of a trained staff
  • Co-operate with the General Manager in achieving the organisation’s objectives

About You:

Previous child day care experience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and energetic Nursery Assistants who are committed to providing the highest quality childcare and education. Working as a Nursery Assistant, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children - ensuring that their emotional needs are met, their interests are nurtured, and their individuality is respected. You will have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure. We are looking for someone with a flexible approach and a strong attention to detail. Development opportunities to complete a level 3 Early Years education qualification after 6 months in the role.
