We have an opportunity for a Chef position at our care home. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and provision of meals, having the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
  • To be involved with the preparation and serving of all meals.
  • Participate in general kitchen duties as required.
  • To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to and maintained at all times within the kitchen.
  • You will support the Catering Manager to operate the kitchen effectively and efficiently working within a budget.

All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.

About You:

As a Chef, you will prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations, providing high-quality catering for our residents. The role would suit someone who is passionate about food and can deliver good quality catering services. The ideal person for this role would have good communication skills, a flexible approach, the ability to prioritise tasks, and excellent time management skills. A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and an understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points is essential. S/NVQ level 2 in Catering and Hospitality would be desirable.
