Role Summary
Navys is seeking an experienced Web Designer on a contract basis to lead the redesign and ongoing maintenance of our company website. This is a focused role centred on creating a modern, professional web presence that clearly communicates what Navys does and supports our commercial and marketing goals. The Web Designer will be responsible for refreshing the visual design and user experience of our website, ensuring it reflects the quality of our enterprise product. You will also implement interactive motion graphics and animations to enhance the user experience, and maintain the site throughout the contract period, making updates as needed and ensuring it remains performant and up to date. We are looking for someone who can work independently and deliver high-quality results from day one.
Responsibilities
- Website Redesign
- Lead the redesign of the Navys company website from concept to launch
- Create wireframes, mockups and visual designs for the new site
- Design and implement motion graphics, animations and interactive elements
- Ensure the site is responsive and optimised for performance
- Build and implement designs using Framer
- Create smooth animations and transitions using Framer's native animation tools and custom code
- Implement motion graphics and micro-interactions to enhance user engagement
- Write clean, maintainable code
- Maintain and update website content as required
- Monitor site performance and resolve any issues
- Implement design updates and improvements over time
Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of experience in web design and development
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality website design work and sophisticated animations/motion graphics
- Proven experience with Framer for website design and development, including custom code components
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of web performance optimization and animation best practices
- Excellent eye for typography, layout and visual design
- Familiarity with SEO best practices
- Experience with SVG animations and canvas-based graphics
- Experience working with legal tech companies or understanding of the legal technology sector
- Interest in fintech or enterprise software
- Knowledge of Three.js or other WebGL libraries
