We are seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join our growing team. This role is London-based and involves working closely with the CEO and our external partners to build the financial and operational foundation that supports Navys’ growth. You will play a pivotal role in establishing the systems and processes that keep the company running smoothly, ensuring financial control, operational efficiency, and compliance as we scale.
What you’ll own (first 12 months):
- Manage Navys’ accounting and financial processes using Xero
- Oversee invoicing, expenses, and payments across clients and vendors
- Maintain accurate records and assist with monthly reporting, cash flow tracking, and annual filings
- Build and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards in Excel
- Coordinate payroll and manage basic people operations with external partners as needed
- Act as the key point of contact for the company’s external accountant and payroll providers
Must-have technical foundations:
- Proven experience in finance, accounting, or operations within a startup or professional services firm
- Strong proficiency with: Xero (essential) and Microsoft Excel (advanced use for reporting, budgeting, and analysis)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Interest in automation and process improvement
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment and a go-getter attitude
