About our client
Our client, a European mid-market Private Equity Firm, is looking to hire a Legal & Compliance Manager. The fund invests across a range of sectors, including the healthcare and consumer space. They are experiencing increasing levels of growth and are looking for a Legal and Compliance professional to become part of the small but impressive London-based team. As it is a first-time hire for the fund, the successful candidate can mould and adapt the role as they see fit, with room to grow and develop within the wider team.
What the job involves
- Support the investment team on transaction activity
- Lead on company secretarial and governance activity for the fund
- Coordinate due diligence on new investee companies, new investors into the fund and the investment process
- Carry out financial crime oversight
- Carry out FCA functions and contact
- Complete AML/KYC for new investments
- Provide accurate compliance advice to deals team
- Oversee ESG compliance processes
- Draft and review NDAs, term sheets and contracts
- Offer support to the finance team through carrying out fund notices, investor reports and management/statutory accounts
- Build strong relationships with a variety of external stakeholders
Who we are looking for
- Legal or Compliance experience within the private markets or alternative investment space
- Familiarity with FCA requirements and relevant regulators
- Exposure to both legal and compliance would be advantageous
- Exposure to operations teams within venture capital funds/investment management would be advantageous
- Highly numerate and excellent attention to detail
