Responsible for performing various duties within the Personalized Services Department, including simple floral displays, FTD gift wrapping, Western Union, engraving, sorting, distribution of mail packages, stocking, maintaining sales areas, check cashing, and processing Military Star Card applications and payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates or assists in floral arrangements such as corsages, table arrangements, and bouquets; advises customers on arrangement types and prices.
  • Maintains fresh and dry flowers, dusts, waters, and displays them neatly.
  • Assists customers in selecting plants and flowers; takes Teleflora FTD orders and maintains documentation; may deliver flowers on base with a valid license.
  • Performs personalized services such as gift wrapping, orders for stationery and wedding invitations, prepares rental agreements, maintains records and logs, and manages price sheets.
  • Executes engraving functions and processes Western Union checks.
  • Sorts and processes incoming/outgoing mail; provides packing services; receives, forwards, and records receipts for priority, flat-rate, express deliveries via UPS and FedEx.
  • Collects, arranges, files documents; maintains number-control logs and master lists for PO box rentals, stamp sales, and related operations.
  • Assists customers opening Military Star Card accounts; provides applications and basic program information; handles balance inquiries, credit limits, and processes payments.
  • Explains lay-away policies; runs and reconciles lay-away reports; takes and places customer special orders; follows up with vendors.
  • Handles all types of cash register transactions (cash, check, charge, debit, lay-away, gift certificates) accurately and procedurally.
  • Applies store policies—NEX, Righter Merchandising System, returns, price matching, checks, cashing—in daily operations.
  • Resolves customer complaints tactfully and assists in training new associates; maintains courteous customer service.
  • Works under general supervision, follows established procedures, ensures timely and accurate completion of assignments, and reviews performance against efficiency and patron satisfaction.

Qualifications:

At least 6 months of responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work. Graduation from a 4-year college, senior high school, or possession of a GED may substitute for the experience requirement.
