The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate product and pricing data, supporting stock replenishment activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial processes across the business. Role and Responsibilities of a Commercial Assistant:
- Responsible for supporting the effective purchase, sale and payment of products through the accurate management of company pricing, product data and stock replenishment activities.
- Working closely with suppliers, operations and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial information is maintained accurately and business processes run efficiently.
- Maintain and manage all product master data, including the accurate setup of new products and ranges.
- Process product amendments, price changes, hierarchy updates, recipes and related product information, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Action supplier updates promptly and elevate sensitive changes such as cost amendments, pack size changes and product discontinuations.
- Set up promotional offers and carry out testing to ensure promotions are configured correctly and operating as intended.
- Manage stock replenishment for designated categories through accurate and timely supplier ordering.
- Maintaining an accurate internal ordering system by analysing data and raising purchase and return orders to ensure effective inventory management and stock accuracy.
- Process orders and invoices through the EDI framework, escalating discrepancies where required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational teams to ensure a high level of service is delivered.
- Monitor stockholding levels and product availability across outlets to support agreed stock and availability targets.
- Maintain product substitution processes and ensure all associated system updates are completed accurately.
- Investigate and resolve operational queries, including product and scanning-related issues.
- Liaise proactively with internal departments, suppliers and other stakeholders to support smooth operational delivery.
- Undertake additional administrative and operational tasks in support of the wider Buying and Commercial teams as required.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and raise queries where appropriate.
Requirements of the role of Commercial Assistant:
- Strong administrative skills with excellent organisational ability.
- Intermediate level Excel skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate data records.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Demonstrates integrity and respect in all aspects of work.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Desirable).
- Previous experience within a Buying administration, Stock ordering, procurement, stock allocation, or a purchasing assistance function would be advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
