The Shipping and Custom Administration role handles the import and export of radar sensors, electronics, and specialist engineering equipment, ensuring every shipment is compliant, documented, and delivered on time. It works closely with engineering, operations, and sales admin teams to maintain visibility of inbound materials, support outbound customer shipments, and uphold robust compliance and audit standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Handle customs clearances for radar systems, components and engineering equipment.
- Complete all follow‑up administration efficiently, including C88 (SAD) filing.
- Resolve shipment issues such as delays, missing paperwork or discrepancies.
- Update internal systems with tracking details, ETAs and shipment status.
- Maintain compliance with HMRC rules, export controls and audit requirements.
- Manage Inwards Processing records and elevate any issues.
- Support general shipping tasks to meet operational needs.
- Support warehouse duties for holiday cover.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Experience in import and export administration.
- Confidence handling C88/SAD documentation.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Strong attention to detail and reliable record‑keeping.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving engineering environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Incoterms, HS/Tariff codes and CPCs.
