Are you a professional with expert knowledge of the local offer and have experience of working with children and young people with complex difficulties? This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about ensuring there is effective signposting for families of children with additional needs. You would be supporting the coordination of the neurodevelopment service. We are a lovely team providing neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people. We developed a new model last year which has received much recognition of good practice and have been shortlisted for a national award. We are an innovative, supportive team who place great importance on staff wellbeing and continuous personal development.
Main duties of the job
- To support the Neurodevelopmental Service in coordinating the neurodevelopmental referrals, clinical screening meetings and providing specialist advice, guidance and training to parents/carers/professionals and young people.
- Support in the effective coordination of referrals received for the Neurodevelopmental service; ensure effective signposting; chair the multi-agency clinical screening meetings; and work alongside and support the team and key professionals to implement the Neurodevelopmental pathway process.
- Be the contact for advice and guidance relating to the Neurodevelopmental Service and referral process for parents, carers, professionals and young people.

Experience
- Experience of working with children and families.

- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of children's services at both a local and national level.
- Experience of working in a partnership way across organisational boundaries.

- Previous experience of working with children who present with neurodevelopmental conditions, behavioural/mental health difficulties.

Knowledge
- To have sound knowledge of local support for children, young people and their families with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- To have a good understanding of local targeted and specialist services and their remits.
- Having good knowledge and understanding of Neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism and ADHD.
