The predicted salary is between 24000 - 30000 € per year.

Main duties of the job include greeting individuals who present to Harrison House, offering a kind and caring approach. This will involve collecting individuals’ details such as name, address, date of birth and reason for presenting, and passing this information onto the Access Team to support them in prioritising and responding to individuals who may present with a mental health crisis. The post-holder will also use their experience of mental health and social care to provide emotional and practical advice and support, liaising with other teams and professionals to ensure individuals receive appropriate support and information. A key part of this role is using and maintaining electronic records to reflect the support and information gathered and provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet individuals presenting to Harrison House.
  • Gather information from individuals in a sensitive manner that upholds confidentiality.
  • Share information with appropriate Navigo colleagues respectfully, securely and in accordance with confidentiality principles.
  • Communicate verbally, in writing and by email with stakeholders.
  • Undertake administration duties including checklists, filing, room bookings, maintaining spreadsheets/databases, testing equipment, safety/security checks, logs and other required records.
  • Implement prevention and de-escalation strategies in accordance with Respect training.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to individuals, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ensure upkeep of Harrison House site, including housekeeping and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Complete and maintain mandatory training and apply it to practice.
  • Update individuals’ patient records in line with guidelines, legislation and scope of the job role.
  • Process visitors correctly: check ID, sign-in, issue badges and escort when necessary.
  • Ensure a suitable staff member is always present at reception.
  • Maintain secure access to staff-only areas.
  • Test and log equipment checks (fire safety, personal alarms, first aid, etc.).
  • Check and restock supplies (stationery, catering, etc.).
  • Uphold high standards of health, safety and security through effective checks, reporting and remediation.
  • Attend bi-monthly supervision and team meetings.
  • Cover periods of absence on Harrison House reception.
  • Provide information and support to individuals while ensuring that this does not impede or manifest clinical/social advice.
  • Signpost individuals to appropriate teams and resources.
  • Offer refreshments and process payments for chargeable food/drink items.
  • Answer reception telephone within acceptable timeframes.
  • Connect individuals with Navigo and external services, including providing leaflets and contact details, and act on behalf of the individual with consent if needed.
  • Adjust communication for individuals with physical, cognitive, learning or other disadvantages (flash cards, hearing loops, mobility support, simple language, etc.).
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and report any shortcomings.
  • Contribute to facilitating the Safe Space service or equivalent.
  • Support processing and supporting of Section 136 (MHA 1983) admissions.
  • Manage competing priorities and seek support where appropriate.
  • Role-model excellent patient care standards.
  • Report concerns regarding patient care and safeguarding.
  • Comply with training, policies and legislation.
