The Communications and Marketing Assistant plays a key role in supporting Navigo's storytelling, digital presence and community engagement. Working closely with the Communications Lead, you'll help plan and deliver creative content that reflects the voices, experiences and achievements of our staff and service users. This is an active, on the ground role. You'll spend time across Navigo services and trading arm locations, building relationships, spotting content opportunities and capturing photos, videos and stories that bring our work to life. You'll help deliver campaigns, support media activity, update digital channels and ensure our brand is represented consistently and professionally.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Supporting the creation and delivery of high quality content across Navigo's social media, websites, campaigns and digital channels.
  • Gathering stories and updates from services, producing engaging posts and videos, supporting media relations, assisting with events and helping maintain a strong, positive public profile for Navigo and its trading arms.
  • Regular travel across Navigo sites to capture photography, video and human interest stories.
  • Supporting the management of digital platforms and helping deliver marketing campaigns.
  • Contributing to internal communications and assisting with basic coordination tasks.
  • Maintaining organised content libraries and helping monitor the performance of digital activity.

Job responsibilities include supporting the delivery of high quality, creative and effective communications and marketing activity for Navigo Health and Social Care CIC, ensuring strong representation of its services, people and values across all channels. This includes supporting activity for Navigo's trading arms Grimsby Garden Centre, Nurtrio, RESPECT Training and CAMs Care UK as part of the wider organisational communications approach.

Working under the guidance of the Communications Lead, the post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of marketing plans, campaigns and digital content that enhance Navigo's reputation, strengthen engagement with service users, staff, partners and the wider community, and support income generation across the organisation.

The role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and uphold Navigo's values while supporting governance, quality and organisational processes.

Key Relationships include Directors, colleagues across Navigo and the trading arms, membership representatives, local NHS organisations, external agencies, businesses and community partners, news media, general public, and service users.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Content gathering across all sites - actively travel to Navigo services and, where required, its trading arms to capture on the ground content including photos, videos, interviews, service updates and human interest stories for social media and digital channels.
  • Maintaining a regular, visible presence across Navigo locations to build relationships, identify content opportunities and ensure authentic representation of services.
  • Producing engaging, high quality content for Navigo's corporate channels, including short form video, photography, staff stories, service user features and behind the scenes insights.
  • Contributing to Navigo's corporate digital presence; supporting the management of trading arm social media accounts; updating websites with fresh, site based content.

Person Specification includes confidence and ability to establish effective working relationships, calm under pressure, able to plan, multi-task and prioritise while maintaining standards, able to engage and motivate others, able to work effectively as part of a team, flexible approach to working arrangements, strong attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated, and commitment to self-development.

Qualifications include a sound educational background, English A Level or equivalent, and previous experience in NHS/public sector communications or marketing.

Experience required includes the ability to work on own initiative, within a team, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media platforms, writing content for publication, and managing social media.

Knowledge required includes a good understanding of marketing good practice, sensitivity to confidential environment, and understanding of NHS Confidentiality issues.
