PURPOSE STATEMENT

The machine operator will be responsible for the efficient use of machine operations OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness; including semi-automatic & automatic machines), optimising machine performance by the timely removal of parts from the machine, minimising machine downtime, maximising efficiency and optimising quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure quality procedures and systems are followed correctly with adherence to the quality system within the Mould Shop. This will entail hourly checks for both attribute visual & functional checks and any key dimensional checks specified on the SOP.
  • It is the responsibility of the operator to highlight any issues to the Setter in charge if they have any doubt as to the quality of the product being produced.
  • If the product is deemed to be suspect, the operator must identify the suspect product and place it in the designated hold area.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures and systems are followed correctly within the Mould Shop including the wearing of PPE provided. It is also the responsibility of the machine operator to report all incidents & accidents to the Mould Shop Setter in charge.
  • The operator is responsible for good material handling practices including accurately counting their work produced (with the aid of scales if necessary) and ensuring that the correct part number accompanies the quantity advised and the attachment of the Operator ticket provided.
  • It is critical for the machine operator to embrace change within the Mould shop and support Mould Shop and Production Management in continuous improvement activities within the Mould Shop facility.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices within the Mould Shop including overall cleanliness with a view to having the facility fit for inspection at any time.
  • You may be required to change your hours of work given reasonable notice to suit the ongoing needs of the business.
  • You may, on request, be required to work overtime at short notice to assist and help meet the demands of a dynamic business.
  • You may be required to attend training courses identified by the company for your personal development. The training may entail internal and external courses.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties on request.

HOURS OF WORK

37.5hrs per week

  • Day Shift: 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • Evening Shift: 4.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • Night Shift: 12.00 midnight to 08.00 a.m. Sunday to Friday
