About this role
We are looking for an individual to join us as an Investigations Manager, within a national policing unit working to ensure safer communities in the UK and around the world.
You will bring your experience of leading and managing investigations into fraud and theft investigations across the unit primarily leading the Disruption Opportunities Team (DOT) of experienced investigators from a police or industry background. You will have a pivotal role in identifying and addressing organised vehicle and financial crime as part of a multi-agency approach across force/regional & national boundaries.
You will direct resources and take appropriate decisions to manage risk and harm to prevent further offending through intelligence development of offences referred into NaVCIS by financial services companies. These offences are often linked-series impersonation fraud perpetrated by determined criminals who maybe also involved in other criminality with organised vehicle crime featuring in fraud across force/regional & national boundaries.
The role will include the tasking of intelligence development officers and analysts within NaVCIS to identify lines of enquiry, produce products to enhance the work of the NaVCIS team for liaison with police colleagues in Forces and briefing decision makers in policing as a key part of the investigation progression.
Relevant training and support will be provided and there is a depth of experience within the unit to draw upon.

Experience and Skills
- Experience of working in an investigative environment.
- Evidence of either managing a small team or prioritising and allocating work, mentoring or coaching others.
- An understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM).
- Experience of presenting at meetings/conferences and communicating with external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the police organisation and structure.

The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) is a national police unit, hosted by Hampshire Constabulary but based near Coventry. We work closely with partner agencies across law enforcement and the private sector to better understand and mitigate the threats posed by vehicle theft and fraud.
Motor finance fraud and associated offences impact upon victims and communities, the national economy and demands placed upon law enforcement agencies.Through effective partnership working NaVCIS seeks to prevent offences of motor finance fraud by our subject matter experts investigating, developing and sharing specialist intelligence to support law enforcement investigations to prevent crime and disrupt organised criminality.
The successful applicant will support the senior leadership team in protecting the UK from vehicle finance fraud, providing assistance to colleagues in the NaVCIS Investigation Team.
