Responsibilities of the Technical Manager:
- Provide technical and engineering input during land assessments and feasibility work.
- Coordinate the preparation, issue and quality of design information across engineering, architectural and planning disciplines.
- Manage external consultants, technical specialists and statutory bodies to ensure approvals and information are received on time.
- Support planning applications with technical detail and resolve queries throughout the process.
- Lead on engineering elements such as roads, sewers, drainage, utilities and site infrastructure, including adoption agreements.
- Identify and monitor technical risks, providing clear updates to senior management.
- Prepare and coordinate technical documentation prior to tender and site start.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations, building control requirements and internal procedures.
To be considered for the Technical Manager role:
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in residential housebuilding in a technical or engineering-led role (Technical Manager, Senior Engineer, Engineering Manager).
- Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities, adoptions and Section agreements.
- Understanding of planning processes and building regulations.
