An engineering-led global infrastructure group across Civil Infrastructure and associated Construction Market Sectors is looking to hire an ICT Support Technician to join the business based in the Swindon office. As an ICT Support Technician you will support and maintain in-house computer systems, workstations and peripherals and oversee the daily running of software, networking and technology related hardware within the business, at a 1st / 2nd line level. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance.

Accountabilities:

  • To setup, maintain and troubleshoot user accounts and security on all systems and hardware, ensuring they follow Information Management and Information Security Management systems.
  • To carry out administrative tasks, maintenance, and update user profiles for Business Systems and other ICT management tools.
  • Provide a first point of service for all ICT issues.
  • Manage the requests and incidents through the call log, providing a 1st line and 2nd line fix resolution or escalating to other team members as appropriate.
  • Deliver support to business users, investigating and resolving incidents and requests on a wide range of technical issues and problems.
  • Support the Business Systems where management, configuration and administration falls under the scope of ICT, such as Themis, HART and other bespoke software.
  • Install, support, maintain and repair ICT hardware, software and peripheral equipment including mobile devices and end user communication systems.
  • Implement the ICT onboarding and offboarding of employees, working with the Business Systems Developer where changes to the process are required.
  • Document instances of asset failure, repair, installation and removal.
  • Monitor information security in line with the Information Security Management System and report any suspected misuse and incidents to the ISMS Representatives.
  • Liaise with Network and Infrastructure Manager on planning, monitoring and recording software and hardware licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
  • Recommend PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades and repairs, liaising with other members of ICT to implement.
  • When required provide or recommend training and support to end users on computer operational issues.
  • Provide assistance in large scale roll out of ICT related Projects.

Seeking someone with:

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support role, providing both hardware and software support.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware issues for desktops, laptops, and office peripherals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Office Suite, Entra, Exchange, Sharepoint, OneDrive).
  • IT Related Qualifications or Certifications.
