The Opportunity:
We’re working with a leading tier 1 contractor who are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to join their Midlands region. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team and oversee the commercial function on projects with values up to £50m across the region. The role would suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for the next step in their career.
The Role:
As Commercial Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the commercial performance of high-value building projects. You will lead and develop a commercial team, drive cost control, and ensure robust financial management throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in supporting business growth and maintaining the company’s reputation for delivering complex schemes to the highest standards.
About You:
- Main contractor background ideally with a tier 1 or large contractor.
- A proven track record of successfully managing projects above £15m across a variety of sectors including commercial, health, education etc.
- Degree educated in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- Strong contractual knowledge (JCT / NEC).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Commercially astute with the ability to make sound strategic decisions.
