Responsibilities
- Carry out building and structural surveys and inspections across the Western region.
- Lead and complete examinations in line with Network Rail standards and relevant legislation.
- Accurately assess building conditions, identify defects, and recommend remedial actions.
- Undertake possession work and produce high-quality condition assessment reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into Citadel and other reporting systems to meet contract KPIs.
- Report any significant or urgent defects to the Operations and Delivery Managers.
- Support and mentor junior staff members.
- Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and key company procedures.
Skills and experience required for this role
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building surveying, inspections, or asset management within rail or civil engineering sectors.
- Qualified to STE05 competency.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, construction methods, and materials.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification essential.
- Knowledge of Network Rail Standards (NR / L3 / CIV / 006), CDM Regulations, and infrastructure safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Aware of or certified in Confined Spaces, Asbestos Awareness, and Working at Height preferred.
