A leading tier 1 contractor in the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors is looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join their team, supporting a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North & Midlands. From frameworks with local authorities to high-profile developments such as SPRINT Birmingham, urban realm redevelopments, and park & ride extensions in Manchester, you will play a key role in driving sustainable delivery and environmental best practice.
Duties:
- Lead on environmental compliance across multiple sites, ensuring standards align with ISO 14001 and company procedures.
- Develop and maintain Project Environmental Management Plans, identifying risks and putting in place robust mitigation.
- Monitor, audit, and report on environmental performance (waste, water, noise, dust) and drive improvements.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and communities to manage environmental concerns and promote positive engagement.
- Champion environmental awareness on-site through training, forums, and communication campaigns.
Person Specification:
- Experience working in an environmental role within construction or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, with the ability to ensure compliance across sites.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders and project teams.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to identify improvements and deliver practical solutions.
- Member of IEMA or similar.
- Flexibility to travel across project sites (full UK driving licence required).
Salary / Benefits: Circa £51,000 - £58,000, negotiable dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package including hybrid working.
