Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum plus company van & package

Company Information: A leading independent railway electrification provider and principal contractor is looking to hire a Site based Health & Safety Advisor to provide professional safety, health, environmental and quality advice to management and employees within the Rail Division and to assist in the delivery of the Safety, Health and Environmental strategies, alongside reporting & ensuring all safety paperwork is recorded and updated as required.

Candidate profile:

  • Experience as a HSQE advisor in the construction and/or rail industries
  • 3 Years Rail Experience
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Valid PTS (Essential)
  • IEMA Certificate (desirable)
  • A detailed knowledge of safety and operational issues
  • Good understanding of the UK and European legislative framework and requirements
  • Good understanding of railway process and procedures including railway standards
  • Computer literacy
  • Willingness to travel including weekends and night working

Main Duties:

  • Assist and promote Health, Safety, Quality and Environment and Operational Safety leadership for all teams and lead the HSQE safety team, providing timely and accurate data across the business.
  • Comply and promote Company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, and competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.
  • Assist the HSQE Manager regarding safety and environmental risks.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and strategies across the function and audit compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
  • Be part of the HSQE team and assist the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
  • Carry out level investigation as required, liaise with the HSQE Manager during the investigation.
  • Provide support in implementing the Behavioural safety and Safety Culture Change Programme.
