An established and respected care home developer based in the Leeds area has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join their in-house team. The business is known for delivering high-quality, design-led care developments and they are looking to add to their growing team due to a strong pipeline of future projects.

This role will be heavily focused on the feasibility and early design stages of new developments. You will take the lead on assessing new sites, reviewing planning constraints, coordinating feasibility layouts and managing early-stage design input to support land acquisition and project viability. You will then continue to oversee the design process as schemes progress through planning and into delivery.

Working closely with internal land, development and construction teams, as well as external consultants, you will ensure designs are practical, compliant and aligned with the business’s design standards and commercial objectives. This role will suit someone with a stable employment history who is comfortable taking ownership of projects from feasibility through to construction.

To be considered for the Design Manager position:

  • Proven experience working as a Design Manager or in a senior design coordination role
  • Strong background in early-stage design, feasibility studies and planning support
  • Experience working on residential, healthcare or care home developments preferred
  • Good understanding of UK planning policy, building regulations and technical design
  • Degree qualified in Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • Stable employment history with evidence of long-term roles
