With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued investment across the South West, they are looking to strengthen their Building Services capability with the appointment of an Electrical Building Services Engineer.

About the Role

As an Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical building services solutions across operational infrastructure and critical facilities within a highly regulated environment. The role will involve supporting refurbishment, infrastructure upgrade and facility improvement projects, with a strong focus on LV electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and associated building services infrastructure. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop technical solutions that meet operational, safety and compliance requirements. This role would suit someone with experience in safety-critical sectors such as defence, nuclear, infrastructure, maritime or heavy industrial environments. Due to the nature of the projects, candidates MUST be Sole UK Nationals and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

The key responsibilities for this Electrical Building Services Engineer role are:

  • Support the design and delivery of electrical building services projects
  • Develop technical solutions across LV systems, lighting and power distribution infrastructure
  • Carry out technical studies, feasibility assessments and site investigations
  • Produce and review engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation
  • Support projects through the full engineering lifecycle from concept through to commissioning
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and technical governance activities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, safety regulations and project requirements
  • Support commissioning, testing and ongoing infrastructure improvement activities

Experience required for this Electrical Building Services Engineer role are:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience within highly regulated industries such as defence, nuclear, infrastructure or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, power distribution and building services infrastructure
  • Experience supporting design and modification projects within operational facilities
  • Ability to produce and review engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • MUST be a Sole UK National and eligible for Security Clearance

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Electrical Building Services Engineer role are:

  • Experience within dockyard, marine or MoD environments
  • Knowledge of nuclear or safety-critical infrastructure environments
  • Experience using ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical or BIM software packages
  • Understanding of BS, IEC and CIBSE standards
