I have an exciting opportunity available for an ICA Engineer to work within our Thames Water Major Projects team. As an ICA Engineer, you will provide SCADA, Instrumentation, Control & Automation engineering expertise for industrial projects with particular emphasis on the water industry. The client provides design and build services for new and existing infrastructure assets (below ground) and non-infrastructure assets (above ground).
The ideal candidate will be someone who is quality-focused and has a demonstrable history of managing ICA works in major projects.
- Position: ICA Design Engineer
- Client: Thames Water & Southern Water
- Start Date: TBC
- Contract Length: 6-month basis (5 years’ worth of work available)
- Pay rate: PAYE (Hourly)
- Site/Office Location: Harpenden
- IT equipment: Provided by Kier
Experience Needed:
- Knowledge of ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID’s, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules and system requirements within process/industrial environment.
- A HNC qualified in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation engineering or similar discipline.
- Experience in ICA engineering, PLC’s, HMI’s, Profibus networks & SCADA installations on large scale water treatment works.
- A working knowledge of Rockwell products such as Contrologix PLC’s.
- A good knowledge of large motor control centres and associated ICA sections.
- Demonstrating a good understanding of the various communications protocols utilised throughout the MCC design and site wide infrastructure, including Profibus, DeviceNet and Ethernet IP.
- Familiarised with SCADA software platforms, used for data analysis and control.
- A knowledge of analytical instrumentation such as Flowmeters, temperature meters and pressure meters, as an example.
