Summary
A multi-disciplinary national building contractor delivering new build, refurbishment and associated fit-out works, with particular expertise in the education, healthcare, industrial, air, retail, commercial and mixed-use sectors is looking to take on a Environmental Advisor to support and assist their central sustainability team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support on the development of standard templates, guidance, and processes to develop/maintain the Tier 1 Management Systems in accordance with ISO 14001 and PAS 2080
- Carry out Environmental Ambition monitoring assessments to understand the performance and progress of delegation strategy, potentially with a greater degree of support to the business unit action plans e.g. achieving recycling targets and actions around promoting positive biodiversity
- Provide sustainability advice through site visits and highlight opportunities for improvements and solutions to known challenges, promoting a consistent approach
- Working collaboratively with specialists across the business to deliver initiatives and new ideas as part of continual improvement
- Support on the GHG assessment for Scope 1, 2 and 3
- Assist business unit managers to ensure environmental incidents are recorded, investigated and root causes are addressed
- Develop, communicate and promote best practice examples from the business
- Develop learning resources and materials to improve the culture and awareness for environment and sustainability
- To actively foster a positive staff morale
- To willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management
Seeking Candidate with:
- Experience within the construction industry (desirable)
- Experience in an Environmental role
- Member of IEMA (Ideally Practitioner)
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (desirable)
