A major tier 1 infrastructure and civil engineering contractor are looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step up and join the business as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on the new Dudley Interchange project, which is a key part of the regeneration of Dudley Town Centre. On behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TFWM), the project will see the construction of a new transport hub that will allow passengers to switch seamlessly between bus services and the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Duties:
- Oversee and manage project, ensuring adherence to programme schedules and budgets.
- Lead the commercial management of NEC 4 contracts, including forecasting, cost reporting, and contract administration.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with client expectations.
- Drive cost efficiency through value engineering and effective procurement strategies.
- Ensure robust risk management and contractual compliance across all projects.
- Mentor and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Report on project performance and provide strategic commercial insights to senior leadership.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Specification:
- A proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with NEC 4 contracts option C.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets particularly within sub-contractor delivery.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (RICS or CIOB accreditation is desirable).
Salary / Benefits: £63,000 - £68,000 dependant on experience plus 25 days holiday, pension scheme & car / allowance.
