This Civil Engineer Lead position will support the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. The role will involve working closely with the customer to provide technical support across both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, including refurbishment, renovation and infrastructure upgrades. The successful candidate will contribute across various stages of project delivery, supporting design development, engineering coordination and construction activities. This role will also involve liaising with key stakeholders, statutory authorities and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with operational, safety and compliance requirements.
This is an opportunity to work on a broad range of engineering projects within a defence and safety-critical environment, supporting both existing asset modifications and small-scale new structures.
Key responsibilities:- Provide technical advice on construction related matters
- Produce engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Undertake condition surveys and interpret findings
- Degree qualified in a civil engineering related discipline accredited by the ICE
- Relevant post-graduate civil engineering experience
- Proven experience delivering projects across RIBA stages 3 to 5
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience using Revit and/or BIM capable software
- Experience delivering projects to BIM Level 2 standards
- Experience carrying out checking and verification up to Category 2 within civil or structural engineering
- Ability to work within changing project environments and customer requirements
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experience within nuclear or other safety-critical environments
- Previous experience working within dockyard, marine, defence or MoD environments
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial sector projects
- Understanding of environmental compliance within project delivery
- Experience using common data environments or data delivery platforms
- Experience supporting projects of varying size and complexity
