As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will lead the commercial function, helping to drive profitability, manage risk, and support the strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the company's commercial strategy.
Lead and manage the commercial team, providing guidance, support, and development Oversee all commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account.
Ensure effective cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Manage contract negotiations, procurement, and contractual risk.
Maximise project profitability while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Provide commercial support and advice to the Board and operational teams.
Review and improve commercial processes and procedures.
Support business development, tender submissions, and strategic growth initiatives.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry best practice.
About You The successful candidate will have significant commercial leadership experience within the civil engineering, earthworks, or infrastructure sectors.
You will demonstrate: Proven experience in a senior commercial role within civil engineering or earthworks.
Strong commercial acumen and sound financial management skills.
A thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and risk management.
Experience managing multiple projects and commercial teams.
Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
The ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
A proactive, strategic, and solutions-focused approach.
A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
