The Senior Estimator sits within the work winning function, working closely with bid management, planning, procurement, technical, HSQE and operational teams to develop accurate and competitive tender pricing.About the RoleThe Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate pricing for tenders and supporting clients with pricing during early contractor involvement projects. The role covers the full estimating process, including developing labour, plant, material, subcontract and temporary works costs, assessing risks and opportunities, and preparing final tender submissions. You will also support settlement meetings, successful bid handovers and reviews of unsuccessful tenders to help inform future pricing strategies.The key responsibilities for this Senior Estimator role are: Prepare detailed and accurate tender pricingCoordinate with Bid Managers to develop competitive pricingAgree methodologies and outputs with planners and design teamsAdvise on cost-effective design optionsPrice alternative design solutionsReview bills of quantities and activity schedulesArrange quantity take-offs and quantity checks where requiredDevelop labour rates and scheme-specific labour calculationsDevelop plant rates and reconcile plant requirements with the PlannerCompare material costs and supplier quotationsCoordinate supplier enquiries with ProcurementAssess subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison sheetsAgree subcontractor selections with Procurement and Bid ManagersAgree temporary works requirements and costsDevelop staff, shift and overtime costsDetermine preliminaries costs with the PlannerContribute to tender risk and opportunity registersPrepare tender summaries and supporting pricing documentationPresent pricing at pre-settlement and settlement meetingsPrepare pricing adjustments following settlementPrepare final pricing documentation for tender submissionSupport the production of tender and contract documentationAddress post-tender client clarifications and amendmentsPrepare pricing handover documentation for successful bidsAttend bid handover meetingsReview feedback from unsuccessful tenders4.
