The Planner will provide planning and scheduling support across both tendering and project delivery activities. You will develop and maintain programmes, assess risks, monitor progress and produce programme information for project teams. The role will also contribute to tender strategies, written submissions, post-tender negotiations and the handover of successful bids.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Develop detailed programmes and programme content
  • Update and monitor progress within working programmes
  • Introduce and manage programme changes
  • Resource and cost-load programmes
  • Assess and incorporate programme risks
  • Check programme robustness using appropriate techniques
  • Produce routine and ad-hoc programme outputs
  • Interpret information from tender documentation
  • Contribute to bid-winning strategies
  • Develop tender programme structures and content
  • Support tender written submissions
  • Transfer planning information to project teams following successful bids
  • Gather and monitor progress and feedback information
  • Produce and communicate programme information in different formats
  • Provide planning support to construction teams
  • Evaluate supply chain programmes
  • Establish and maintain internal and external project controls reporting
  • Work to defined project timescales

Experience required for this role includes:

  • Demonstrable understanding of construction methods and outputs
  • Experience working with planning and programming techniques
  • Experience using planning software, principally Primavera P6
  • Understanding of commercial and contractual requirements
  • Understanding of programme change
  • Experience providing short-term planning support to construction teams
  • Ability to analyse and assess programmes
  • Experience evaluating supply chain programmes
  • Ability to work to defined timescales
  • Understanding of business processes and systems

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Experience supporting tender planning and work winning
  • Experience contributing to tender written submissions
  • Experience developing programme structures independently
