The company operates within the civil engineering and construction sector, delivering large-scale and complex construction projects. The role sits within a work winning function, supporting the preparation of tenders and working closely with bid management, planning, procurement, technical, HSQE and operational teams.
The Methods Engineer (Work Winning) will support the preparation and submission of tenders for large-scale and complex civil engineering projects. The role will focus on developing technical proposals, work plans and project execution strategies, while identifying technical challenges, risks and opportunities. You will work across multiple disciplines and support pre-bid meetings and client presentations.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
- Analyse tender documents, specifications and technical information
- Prepare technical proposals, work plans and risk mitigation strategies
- Develop project schedules, resource plans and budget forecasts
- Identify technical challenges and develop practical engineering solutions
- Support the development of project execution plans for underground works
- Coordinate with geotechnical, construction and subcontractor teams
- Provide technical support during pre-bid meetings and client presentations
- Prepare technical and commercial bid documentation
- Maintain accurate tender records and supporting information
- Report on progress, risks and potential issues
- Manage multiple tender submissions against tight deadlines
- Attend project sites and client meetings when required
Experience required for this role includes:
- Sound knowledge of civil engineering and construction techniques
- Experience preparing technical proposals and work plans
- Understanding of project planning, resource planning and budgeting
- Awareness of relevant procurement legislation
- Commercial awareness of different forms of contract
- Ability to work across multiple tender submissions and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and operational teams
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience include:
- Experience working within a work winning or tendering environment
- Experience with underground works
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Knowledge of governance and procedural requirements relating to work winning
- Experience supporting pre-bid meetings and client presentations
