A rapidly growing multidisciplinary consultancy delivering infrastructure solutions for projects across a variety of sectors - including rail, highways, utilities and aviation have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their team working on high-profile schemes across the Yorkshire area supporting the South Yorkshire & West Mayoral Combined Authority with their rail plans for the future and also playing a part in developing the business in the region.
To be suitable for the Senior Project Manager Role you will have:
- Demonstrable experience working in an established project management environment, in either a consultancy, client or local authority.
- A strong background in Rail is essential but also being able to demonstrate some experience on other sectors such as Highways, who can help the business develop would be desirable.
- Strong understanding and experience of NEC contracts.
- Broad experience in multi-disciplinary projects e.g.: new stations, footbridges, freight depots, car parks, and feasibility studies.
- Experience in the early stages of development of projects, whilst at the same time being able to demonstrate the core competencies in project management of delivery to time, cost and quality.
- Experience building and managing regional teams to service existing and new clients.
- Business Development expertise and understanding of how to develop clients and win work.
- A Degree qualification in a relevant project management or engineering discipline (Essential).
- Must be either a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or be chartered with a relevant professional body i.e. ICE, IStructE, CIHT etc (essential).
- NEC accreditation (Desirable).
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, monitor design, tender and supervise the implementation of projects to the agreed targets and client's satisfaction, delivering the projects to time, cost and quality.
- Act as principal client contact on all aspects of the project.
- Develop and maintain effective client relationships, monitor client satisfaction levels, and respond urgently to any client concerns.
- Ensure progress is communicated regularly with Clients and that improvement plans are developed and implemented as necessary to benefit the Project.
- Manage and proactively mitigate risks and obstacles to contractual performance and total project delivery, including obtaining specialist 3rd party support where necessary.
- To lead and direct the project team throughout the project life cycle.
- Ensure regular effective communication with clients and within the project team.
- Develop, complete and keep up-to-date Project plans for health, safety, quality and environment.
- Instigate and manage specific risk assessments as required by the company H&S Policy and specific project requirements.
- Ensure that projects comply fully with all statutory and regulatory provisions including HMRI and the CDM Regulations.
- Monitor work progress and compliance to specifications and standards and collate documentation and records.
- Ensure project costs are regularly reviewed and invoices are raised on a regular basis.
- Attend Project and Management review meetings.
- Some involvement in wider activities may be required as part of the role including; preparing fee estimates, bidding, resourcing the programmes, identifying and managing risk, undertaking site visits, managing Health & Safety paperwork and assisting in tender processes.
Salary / Package: £90,000 - £100,000 Negotiable dependent on experience plus; 25 days holiday + Bank holidays, yearly profit share bonus, income protection and life insurance, the option to buy and sell annual leave, corporate eyewear scheme, private medical insurance, EV car scheme, paid professional subscriptions, competitive pension.
