Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Watford (with travel to project sites and flexibility to work from home)
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE plus annual bonus & excellent company benefits

An established and growing multidisciplinary construction contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team, working predominantly across a varied portfolio of building projects, with additional exposure to civil engineering and groundworks.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with up to 5 years' main contracting experience, who is looking to take on greater responsibility and progress their career within a growing and well-established business.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects and continued growth across the business, the successful candidate will join a supportive commercial team, gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects across the build division. The business offers genuine opportunities for professional development, increased commercial responsibility and long-term career progression.
The role will be based around Watford, with travel to project sites required and subsistence available where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day commercial management of projects, including cost control, valuations, forecasting, CVRs and cash flow.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
- Monitor project budgets and commercial performance, identifying and managing risks, changes and opportunities.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure contractual compliance and maintain accurate commercial records, reporting and project documentation.
- Provide commercial input throughout the project lifecycle, taking on increasing responsibility from procurement through to final account.
About You
- 2-5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within a main contracting environment.
- Ideally previous exposure to civil engineering, groundworks or general building projects.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of construction processes, cost management and commercial reporting.
- Experience in subcontractor management, procurement, valuations and final accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness, communication and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, organised and keen to develop within a growing multidisciplinary business.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
