The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Director to join an established commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor, based in Manchester and delivering projects nationwide.
This is a senior leadership position, overseeing a cluster of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects valued at up to £6m. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard, while maintaining strong client relationships and driving operational performance across the portfolio.
With a Manchester office base and some hybrid flexibility, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a national portfolio of projects within the commercial workplace sector.
The Role
As Contracts Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the successful delivery of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects across a national portfolio.
- Providing leadership, direction and support to Contracts Managers and project delivery teams.
- Maintaining control of project programmes, budgets, profitability and commercial performance.
- Building and developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, health and safety and contractual requirements.
- Monitoring project performance, identifying risks and implementing solutions to maintain delivery standards.
- Supporting the continued development of operational processes and delivery standards across the business.
- Ensuring resources are effectively allocated across projects to achieve programme and commercial objectives.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience in a senior operational or contracts leadership role within commercial fit-out and refurbishment.
- A strong track record of overseeing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Experience delivering projects up to £6m in value.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, margins and project performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and client relationship management skills.
- The ability to manage a geographically dispersed portfolio and support teams across multiple locations.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
