Knowledge and experience of working to a periodic planned maintenance system – including completion of maintenance inspection records.
- Reactive maintenance repairs of mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.
- Mechanical Inspection and Repair works on mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts in line with legislative requirements and periodic inspections.
- Mechanical refurbishment of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and dock specific equipment (capstans / winches / Gates).
- Mechanical Inspection, Servicing and Testing of long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
- Mechanical Inspections, Servicing and Testing of brake units on long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
- Diesel engine servicing (road vehicles / forklift trucks / cherry pickers).
- Vessel services – connection of water supply and cooling discharge hoses to dockside infrastructure and onboard vessels.
- Interpretation of Parts Manuals, Schematic Drawings and Parts Lists.
- Experience with lathes & milling machines, welding machines.
Quality and Health & Safety:
- Recognises risks and reports hazards immediately.
- Maintains a strong “safety-first” mindset, especially around heavy machinery.
Proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and heavy machinery operation.
Experience with diagnostic tools and software for equipment troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
