Job Description
- Mechanical Inspection and Repair works on mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.
- Mechanical refurbishment of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and dock specific equipment (capstans / winches / Gates)
- Mechanical Inspection, Servicing and Testing of long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
- Mechanical Inspections, Servicing and Testing of brake units on long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
- Diesel engine servicing (road vehicles / forklift trucks / cherry pickers).
- Vessel services – connection of water supply and cooling discharge hoses to dockside infrastructure and onboard vessels
- Interpret Parts Manuals, Schematic Drawings and Parts Lists
- Interpret Oral & Written Instructions
- Interpret Health & Safety Arrangements
- Operate Equipment & Tools e. g., lathes & milling machines
Qualifications
- Experienced Maintenance Fitter in a similar environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with a wide range of hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
