Navantia UK is expanding its team in Methil and we’re looking for a proactive HSE Advisor to help drive safety excellence across our site. This role is ideal for someone who’s confident on the shop floor, strong in communication, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.

As an HSE Advisor, you’ll support daily operations, ensure compliance, and act as a key representative in client and internal HSE discussions. You’ll play a vital role in risk management, incident analysis, inspections, and supporting ISO accreditation—while helping the wider team make safety central to everything we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Support HSE performance across site operations and report progress against plans.
  • Recommend improvements based on ongoing risk assessments and performance trends.
  • Represent HSE in daily and weekly site meetings with clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure all personnel follow company safety policies and legal requirements.
  • Conduct and document risk assessments, identifying opportunities to reduce likelihood and severity.
  • Carry out regular workplace inspections to verify compliance with procedures.
  • Support development of site‑wide health and safety strategies.
  • Record and review incidents and accidents for reporting and analysis.
  • Stay up to date with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Assist with management reports, toolbox talks, newsletters and HSE communications.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and correct disposal of waste and hazardous substances.
  • Support ongoing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditation activities.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate).

Desirable

  • Internal auditor experience for ISO 14001 / ISO 45001.
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice.

Technical Skills

  • Experience providing HSE support on large projects—ideally in marine, offshore, or oil & gas environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective problem‑solving abilities.
  • Confidence working with structured processes and procedures.
  • Good understanding of customer expectations.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
