We’re looking for a Senior Marine Engineer to develop the design, integration, and optimisation of auxiliary and power & propulsion systems for complex naval and government shipbuilding projects.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and integrate systems like HVAC, fuel, cooling, firefighting, hotel systems, power & propulsion and more
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines including electrical, control, structural, naval architecture, safety and ILS teams to create seamless designs
- Ensure that auxiliary and power & propulsion systems are designed for reliability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance
- Drive innovation in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and sustainable solutions
- Develop and produce system calculations, technical specifications, P&ID drawings, design disclosures, FMEA, system integration and other system deliverables
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your technical expertise

Qualifications:
- Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering (or related field), or equivalent
- Strong background in Naval or Marine Auxiliary systems and Power & Propulsion
- Expertise in system integration and familiarity with the challenges involved in integrating auxiliary and power & propulsion systems with other ship systems
- Knowledge of industry regulations, system optimisation, and integration challenges
- Ability to develop power & propulsion architectures and analyse across a range of operating profiles to ensure system optimisation for redundancy and fuel consumption
- Experience and awareness of energy-efficient solutions and emission reduction technologies
- Problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach
- Eligible for BPSS clearance (SC clearance may be required)
