Job Description
To serve as the primary on-site Applications representative for the site, ensuring smooth, reliable, and proactive support across all business applications. The Information Systems Business Partner (ISBP) acts as the first line for application issues, connecting the site's operational teams with central Enterprise Applications and the wider IT organisation. The role requires strong experience supporting business applications within an operational or manufacturing environment.
The Role
- Serve as the trusted on-site point of contact for all application-related issues, providing first-line support and owning tickets through to resolution.
- Build strong relationships with local teams to understand how applications support or impact site processes, and communicate changes, outages, or improvements clearly.
- Diagnose and escalate application problems to central SMEs, monitoring progress and ensuring timely closure and stakeholder updates.
- Maintain detailed site-specific knowledge of application usage, workflows, customisations, and dependencies.
- Occasional travel to other sites as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Site IT Business Partner to ensure alignment across applications, infrastructure, and wider IT operations.
- Coordinate with Enterprise Applications teams to maintain consistent standards, share knowledge across sites, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support application lifecycle activities such as upgrades, testing, patching, integrations, and enhancement delivery.
- Gather and document local requirements, validate changes, and participate in site and cross-functional projects involving applications, digital transformation, or process optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with applications such as SAP, PLM, CAD, CRM, and Risk Management tools.
Qualifications
- Third level qualification (desirable).
- Hands-on experience with applications such as SAP, PLM, CAD, CRM, and Risk Management tools.
- Experience acting as first line support for business users.
- Understanding of end-to-end business processes (e.g., engineering, supply chain, finance).
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as this role is heavily people facing.
