Paid Internship Opportunity – Project Management (Internal Classification System)

Department: Project Management

Duration: Six‑week paid placement

Eligibility: 1st or 2nd year undergraduate students (Business, Project Management, Information Management, Data Analytics or related fields)

Navantia UK/Harland & Wolff is offering a six‑week paid internship within our Project Management department, giving an undergraduate student the chance to gain hands‑on experience while contributing to a meaningful internal improvement project. This placement focuses on developing a structured classification framework to enhance consistency, organisation and usability across internal business systems.

About the Role

Working closely with the Project Management team, the intern will review existing internal systems and help design a clear, practical classification structure. This work will support better organisation of information and improve how teams access and use internal resources. This role is ideal for students with strong organisational skills and confidence using IT tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review internal systems, folders and processes to understand current information structures.
  • Develop a clear and consistent classification framework for internal use.
  • Create naming conventions, navigation maps and governance recommendations.
  • Document findings, insights and proposed improvements.
  • Engage with team members to gather feedback and understand operational needs.
  • Present the completed system and recommendations in a final handover session.
