Navantia UK is seeking a highly skilled tax professional to join our Finance team and take ownership of UK & Northern Ireland tax matters within a globally connected business. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, managing risk, and shaping tax strategies that support our continued international growth.
The Role
As UK Tax Manager, you will act as the subject‑matter expert for UK & NI taxation, working closely with the UK Chief Financial Officer and maintaining a strong functional link to our Global Tax Director in Spain. You will collaborate regularly with international tax teams across Customs, International, and Spanish Taxation to ensure alignment across the Group. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role offering both technical depth and strategic visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax‑efficient structures for UK & NI operations
- Advise on direct and indirect tax matters, ensuring alignment with global tax strategy
- Manage and review all UK & international tax filings
- Ensure ongoing compliance with evolving UK, NI, and international tax regulations
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks
- Provide clear, pragmatic advice to senior leadership on tax exposure and opportunities
- Maintain UK transfer pricing policies and documentation
- Oversee benchmarking studies and compliance with OECD and local requirements
- Act as the main point of contact with tax authorities
- Support audits, enquiries, and negotiations with confidence and credibility
- Oversee customs‑related processes
- Ensure data accuracy, cross‑functional coordination, and continuous process improvement
- Monitor UK & NI tax developments and assess their business impact
- Share insights and best practices across finance and the wider Group
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related discipline (Master’s in Tax or equivalent an advantage)
- Significant experience in UK & NI tax and/or international tax advisory
- Strong knowledge of transfer pricing, cross‑border taxation, indirect taxes, and customs
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to translate complex tax issues into practical business advice
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across international teams
- Strong technical proficiency, including tax software and Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
