The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is hiring for its premier entry-level career development program. As a Natural Resources Management Specialist, you will help support the environmental compliance and sustainability of the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), a multi-billion dollar effort to modernize the Navy’s critical shipyard infrastructure at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. This position offers structured training, rapid advancement, and a vital role in protecting our nation's resources.
In this position you will:
- Provide technical support to ensure Navy compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies.
- Assist senior staff with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.
- Help monitor conservation measures, mitigations, and best management practices for large-scale construction projects.
- Support project management efforts for environmental contracts, including preparing statements of work and reviewing deliverables.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and support public affairs on environmental topics.
- Apply your academic background to real-world environmental matters, including natural/cultural resources, and environmental compliance media.
We are seeking individuals who possess:
- Foundational knowledge of biology, environmental planning, or physical science concepts, principles, and practices.
