Are you comfortable leading complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long-term relationships? If so, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Nautilus Search is partnering with an innovative maritime technology company that is transforming how financial institutions and insurers assess risk, compliance, and performance across global shipping portfolios. Following significant growth and continued investment, our client is looking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager to take ownership of a strategic market segment and drive commercial growth across the finance and insurance sector. This is an opportunity to join a scaling SaaS business operating at the intersection of shipping, technology, data analytics and sustainability.

The Role

  • This is a highly consultative sales role involving complex decision-making environments, multiple stakeholders and long-term relationship building.
  • You'll work closely with leadership and product teams, providing market insight whilst helping shape the future direction of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities across targeted financial institutions.
  • Manage complex sales cycles from initial engagement through to signed agreements.
  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and revenue forecast.
  • Identify opportunities for customer expansion and long-term account growth.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally, providing market and product feedback.
  • Represent the business at relevant industry events and conferences.
  • Work closely with product and leadership teams to support continued growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience selling SaaS, data, analytics, risk or enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience selling into banks, insurers, asset managers or financial institutions.
  • Strong track record of managing complex B2B sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience developing new markets, territories or verticals from a relatively greenfield position.
  • Commercially driven, self-sufficient and comfortable operating with a high level of autonomy.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to navigate long sales cycles and strategic buying processes.

Highly Desirable

  • Maritime, shipping or logistics industry exposure.
  • Existing network within maritime finance, marine insurance or adjacent financial services sectors.
  • Experience selling ESG, sustainability, compliance or risk management solutions.
  • Previous experience working within a high-growth or scale-up environment.

Why Join?
