Join us as a Strategic Finance Analyst. We’ll look to you to provide commercial and financial insights and analysis to help influence key business decisions. You’ll be providing input for plans, forecasts and stress scenarios and provide business leads with key themes and analysis. Gain valuable exposure and hone your expertise as you build relationships and advise a range of business stakeholders. We offer a hybrid way of working where you’ll be based in our Edinburgh office two days a week, with the rest of your time working from home.
As a Strategic Finance Analyst, you’ll be providing business insights and market knowledge to assist the leadership team to make key product, cost and investments specific decisions in conjunction with the franchise. The team partners with a range of businesses including Risk and Finance to manage their cost base. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge in one of our key business areas, while further developing your financial analysis experience.
You’ll also be:
- Using a data-led approach to solve strategic problems and contributing towards automation and simplification of key Finance-wide services.
- Understanding and challenging financial performance, providing relevant and meaningful insight to the business including internal and external MI.
- Collaborating with other Finance teams to provide specific financial plans, forecasts and analysis.
- Supporting reviews to ensure integrity of data and options presented in investment decisions and business cases.
- Providing investment tracking and forecasting reviews.
The skills you’ll need:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need good stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate and influence. Along with planning and organisation capabilities, you’ll need the ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk and work in a flexible environment. If you’re working towards an accountancy qualification, this would be ideal but isn’t essential.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Good data analysis and modelling skills.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise and non-technical manner.
- The ability to create and review plans, forecasts, models and stress scenarios.
- Strategic awareness and the ability to apply business knowledge, expertise and challenge to support the business.
