Join us as an eTrading Oversight Director. You’ll help develop, maintain and operate an effective risk-based approach to second line of defence (2LOD) oversight of the bank’s algorithmic and electronic trading activities. You can expect to enjoy an engaging and fast-paced environment, as well as considerable stakeholder interaction.
What you'll do:
- Provide subject-matter expertise, insightful analysis and risk opinions to business senior management and policy standard owners on the identification, assessment and control of algorithmic and eTrading risk.
- Review new algorithms and material changes to algorithms or automated controls to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
- Drive focus and action on building a strong level of resilience into critical algorithmic and eTrading processes by influencing and challenging senior management.
- Provide strategic direction to 1LOD on the adequacy of their regulatory remediation and risk mitigation strategies, framework and plans.
- Coordinate and perform the validation of periodic self-assessments of compliance with regulatory requirements on algorithmic and electronic trading.
- Maintain an effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Help develop colleagues within the wider eTrading Oversight team to ensure its capability meets business requirements.
The skills you'll need:
- Extensive experience in financial services, and operational experience of end-to-end processes within an electronic trading business or appropriate consulting experience.
- A proven track record of applying controls to manage algorithmic and eTrading-related risks and robust knowledge of algorithmic and eTrading-related regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of financial service risks and controls at different levels of an organisation.
- A track record of delivery across multiple businesses involving complex stakeholder, process and technology issues.
- The ability to communicate and influence at all levels, written and verbally.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to drive projects and resolve issues.
